Putrajaya Museum of Nature

Putrajaya’s Museum of Nature (Muzium Alam Semula Jadi), which opened for the public since early 2010, consists of two galleries; one for mammals on the ground floor, and one for bugs and insects on the first floor. All exhibits at this museum are real, and have been preserved for educational purposes.

This Museum of Nature exhibits a total of 637 specimen collections, including skeletons. In fact, one of the museum’s biggest attractions is the Bryde’s whale skeleton measuring some 39 feet, placed at the entrance of the gallery to welcome visitors. Specimens are exhibited according to species and animal groups.

The purpose of our visit to this museum was to educate us on the animal kingdom. We were given a short quiz to answer within thirty minutes. This made us read through the text provided for the many different exhibits. I am sure, without this quiz, many of us would just quickly browse through the exhibits.
