The Haven Resort Hotel & Residences, Ipoh was a flurry of activity for 3D/2N from 11th to 13th Jan, 2017 when local celebrity Cheryl Samad and her family were there to film an episode of Astro Ria Family Travel Show.

With Cheryl was her husband Ng Ping Ho, an award-winning film director, producer and screenwriter, possibly best known for his English-language television sitcom, Kopitiam. Table For Two, Realiti and the corporate reality TV series, The Film, are also popular works by Ng Ping Ho.
3. breakfast time, alfresco style
Their two daughters, Stella and Kate, were also part of the entourage, that included the crew of Parallax Pictures. Cheryl Samad is now a television presenter, professional emcee and actress but I probably best remember her as Malaysian Idol co-host and Nescafe Kickstart VJ.
4. filming begins
The Astro Ria Family Travel Show also features other local celebrity families such as Harith Iskandar, Nabil Ahmad, Lana Nodin, Tomok, Wawa Zainal and Siti Sarah. Each episode was separately filmed at a different location.
