What are the chances of eating French in Kuala Selangor? Extremely high since the opening of Café Lumière sometime in the middle of May this year.

I wouldn’t say that Café Lumière has an entirely French menu, since there was no dish that I couldn’t pronounce. I would rather say, Café Lumière broadly serves Western.

Do be warned, though. Café Lumière has a rather limited menu. Basically, you won’t go wrong if you order what’s written on the small blackboard at their entrance. Have a look at the food photos that I have enclosed and match them with the blackboard the day I visited.

One thing I noticed is that Café Lumière’s owner, Gerald, and his wife, really put their hearts into preparing their orders, whether food or beverages. The herbs used in their cooking are fresh as well. Not only do they want to serve the most authentic French flavours, they are keen to offer healthy choices, too.

To me, Café Lumière is an eatery more suitable to lepak over cakes and coffee, rather than for main meals. If you are rushing for time, then this is not for you. The best thing to do is to rest and relax – chit chat over a cuppa and keep those phones away.
