One of the best places for photography in Perak is Victoria Bridge (Jambatan Victoria) in Enggor, just outside the boundary of Kuala Kangsar. This single-track railway truss bridge was built in December 1897 and was completed in March 1900.

At 117 years old, Victoria Bridge is one of the oldest railway bridges in Malaysia. This bridge continued to be in use until 2002, when a concrete girder bridge was opened to handle rail traffic.

From my photos, you can see that it crosses over the Perak River (Sungai Perak) as its main purpose at the time was to serve the local tin mining industry.

Personally, I had wanted to visit Victoria Bridge for photography many moons ago but it was just not possible to fit a trip to Enggor in my packed schedule until recently.

Luckily I read through this post. I did not know this bridge even existed, moreover one of the oldest bridge. Guess I've been missing out a lot on history. Hope to visit this place as well.
