Growing up in Ipoh, as a Cantonese, my default breakfast was dim sum before heading to school. During the weekends, it was either Canning Garden Chee Cheong Fun or Auntie Foong’s Curry Noodles.
Over the years, it is interesting to see how dim sum has evolved, from traditional fare to modern. These days, when I go for dim sum, I am inclined to order from the modern dim sum menu. What about you?
This was what happened when I had my breakfast at Wanhoi YAMCH’A one morning at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. I was really captivated by their BBQ pork buns in piggie shapes, golden custard buns and Salted Egg Yolk with Lotus Paste Filling served in bird cage.
It wasn’t just the finely crafted dim sum or its contemporary design décor that was captivated my eye. I also enjoyed the refreshing open dim sum kitchen concept, which allows us to witness the creation of these masterpieces live.
Wanhoi YAMCH’A, a restaurant by the renowned Oversea Group opened barely two years ago, serves Chinese cuisine that suits Malaysian palate, bringing to us a world class dining experience.
Besides dim sum for breakfast, it also offers an extensive à la carte menu of delicious Chinese-style dishes, including its signature Spinach with Superior Broth, Crispy Pork With Sweet & Sour Sauce and Pan-fried Cod Fish with Preserved Vegetables and Mushroom.
Do take note that Wanhoi YAMCH’A is a non-halal restaurant.
