Smart Fish 林聰明沙鍋魚頭 (光華店)
When in Chiayi, the eatery that came strongly recommended was Smart Fish. The outlet that we went to for lunch was the branch, just around the corner from its headquarters.

We had to queue up for about 30 minutes before we managed to get a seat. If a restaurant is packed with locals, it has to be good!

As Smart Fish is famous for its casserole fish head, of course that was what we savoured, among other dishes.

Similar to the experience of my very first meal in Taiwan at 斗六門當歸鴨麵線, I had difficulty ordering my food. So, my lunch here was what my tour guide wanted me to eat. What? Did you expect me to pick up Mandarin in a matter of days? Oh, I wished!
