During my visit to Batam earlier this month, I travelled to the Indonesian island in Riau Province from Johor’s Puteri Harbour International Ferry Terminal (PHIFT). I had taken a flight from Ipoh to Johor Bahru the day before.

Puteri Harbour International Ferry Terminal in Nusajaya, Johor, is quite a distance from town. My Grab fare from Setia Sky 88 was RM23, and that’s after a discount of RM3 by using Grab e-Wallet. A ferry from Stulang Laut (or Berjaya Waterfront) is a mere RM3 Grab fare away but as Dolphin Fast Ferry Sdn. Bhd. was our transport sponsor, we boarded from PHIFT.

If not mistaken, the ferry services at PHIFT to Indonesia ply Johor – Batam Island (Batam Centre) and Johor – Karimunbesar Island (Tanjung Balai Karimum) only.
