Near the east coast of Pangkor Island is Fu Lin Kong, one of the islands most popular tourist attractions.
The Taoist temple, built at the foot of Pangkor Hill in the village of Sungai Pinang Besar, a Chinese village (Kampung Cina), doesn’t just attract tourist of the same faith but is a good stop for those who are looking for a beautiful Pangkor backdrop.
Besides the magnificent arch to welcome visitors and a majestic temple façade, there is a mini Great Wall of China at the back of the main temple hall.
Although the temple attracts many tourists, it is also a popular spot for locals, who would come here to exercise by trekking up and down the hill alongside the mini Great Wall of China.
I may have been to Pangkor Island numerous times but this was my first visit to Fu Lin Kong, believed to be the largest Chinese temple on the island. Well-worth a visit.
