As you can see from my posts this past week, I was in Lumut/Pangkor for a short vacation recently.
I had thought of taking the public transport to Lumut from Ipoh but subsequently changed my mind and drove down instead. It’s always more convenient to have your own transport on a road trip, eh?
Anyway, I did my research on express buses that ply the Ipoh to Lumut route, and will share my findings here for the benefit of readers.
There may be other bus companies that cater to travellers between Ipoh and Lumut that I am not aware of, but here are the bus schedules and ticket fares for two reliable bus companies.
1. at the Sri Maju bus terminal along Jalan Bendahara, Ipoh
1) Sri Maju Schedule
from Ipoh to Lumut (daily)

Fare (adult): RM10 (VIP) / RM8 (ordinary)
2. a fleet of Sri Maju express buses

Perak Roadways have more frequent buses to Lumut from Ipoh compared to Sri Maju. However, from the conditions of these buses, they don’t look as comfortable. Also, unlike Sri Maju buses that shuttle directly from Ipoh to Lumut and back, they need to make a few stops in smaller towns along the way.
