A recent trip to Langkawi saw me being put up at the luxury resort of Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa.

Although it was one of the early five-star resorts on the island and guests would expect the facility to be dated, I still had a pleasant 2-night stay there.

Located along the popular Cenang Beach, we could easily lose track of time just lazing around the beach or swimming in one of the two outdoor pools. It’s sufficient to say that once you have checked in, you don’t want to leave!

Shopaholics would also enjoy the proximity of the resort with the Cenang shopping strip. It’s within walking distance but the frontage of the resort is dimly lit and one could easily miss the entrance at night.

My room was on the lower floor of a chalet with a terrace facing one of the swimming pools. It was most convenient, if only I could swim.
