Nature lovers should not give this Kilim Geoforest Park or Kilim Geopark a miss when visiting Langkawi.
2. exploring Kilim Geopark in Langkawi
Offering one of the most breathtaking views, visitors have to hire a speed boat for a cruise along the waterways to truly appreciate its magnificence.
3. sea creatures to admire at one of the fish farms
This Kilim Karst Geoforest Park which I visited recently, is one of three distinct areas that form the Langkawi Geopark. The other two are Machinchang Cambrian and Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Parks
4. passing through Crocodile Cave and checking out insect-eating bats
Langkawi Geopark is known as the oldest land of Malaysia at 550 million years old. This park was, in 2007, officially declared by UNESCO as one of 94 globally recognised Geoparks from 27 countries.
5. eagle-watching
While one could partake in quite a number of recreational activities here such as canoeing, during my trip, I had the chance to go on a mangrove tour, pass through the Crocodile Cave (thanks to low tide), visited one of the many fish farms and watched eagle-feeding.
