I spent a short night at Ixora Hotel in Perai, Penang, recently. The guest service staff saw me to my room and turned on the lights for me.
I’ve stayed at various hotels and don’t remember being served in this manner, even at larger properties such as Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel. I wonder if this special service is only accorded to guests of certain room categories or to all guests.
Anyway, I put up at the Deluxe King room, so naturally room photos are of my room.
I’d say that Ixora Hotel is an unassuming business class hotel but because it is adjoining Megamall Penang (mall), it could also serve as a family hotel. Another plus point of this hotel is that it is just a short 20-minute drive from the Bayan Lepas International Airport via Penang Bridge.
I read on the internet that this 326-room hotel is rated four-star. However, it doesn’t have a swimming pool.
Current promotion at Ixora is daily complimentary dinner for guests who book a room, inclusive of breakfast directly with the hotel. This is on-going until January, 2016. I like the convenience of dining without the hassle of searching for food in an unfamiliar area.

I drove past this hotel a few years ago. The current promotion of buffet dinner is a good deal.

Ixora, heard of it a long time ago, but due to not so good reasons, in the sense that there are some 'china girl' services being offered there. Anyway, glad to see that it's all hearsays, and the hotel itself is pretty awesome!

Wow, the staff assist you into the room. Something new to me too. Maybe it's their policy to stay good and have such courtesy towards the guests. :)

A simple room and the design is plain for this hotel. As long as the hotel is clean and bed is comfortable, I dont mind if not swimming pool.

Quite a decent hotel but I don't have relative or anything to do there so will not be staying in that hotel.
