I recently had the opportunity to be hosted at The Settlement Hotel for two nights. I can honestly say that I have no complaints at all – yes, fussy me was totally satisfied with my stay at this intimate boutique hotel.

The Settlement Hotel boasts a five-storey residence block with 45 rooms. Additionally, there are three luxurious villas to cater to couples who wish to spend a more intimate vacation in Melaka.

Although The Settlement Hotel does not have a sprawling compound, it does not lack green spaces as you can see from my photos. Also, a lavish traditional spa facility with three therapy rooms are housed in a Malay-style villa, facing a dip pool.

In the evening, the hotel’s Rooftop Garden is the best hangout spot. Obviously, Melaka’s skyline is nothing compared to a city like Kuala Lumpur, but it is a wondrous feeling to be sitting “on top of the world” with the wind blowing into our hair, as we chat over a drink.
