Since starting this blog, I have lost count of the number of times I have been asked about the best way to go to the Lost World of Tambun by public transport, and the cheapest way to go there.

1. Sunway City Ipoh free shuttle bus service

While Sunway Lost World of Tambun has been providing free van shuttle service to the theme park from selected hotels in Ipoh for the past two years, we all realise that not all visitors to the theme park stay at one of the eight partner hotels.

And so, Sunway Group, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has recently launched a free shuttle bus service for everyone – it does not matter if the passenger intends to stop at Lost World of Tambun. This free shuttle bus service operates from 10am to 10pm daily, except for Tuesday, unless it is a Malaysian school holiday or public holiday.

Departing from Lost World of Tambun (at 10am, 4.30pm, 6.30pm & 10pm), its first stop is Fair Park Hotel, followed by Tower Regency Hotel, Syeun Hotel, Excelsior Hotel, French Hotel, Ipoh Downtown Hotel, Ibis Hotel and Impiana Hotel, before making its way back to the Lost World of Tambun. This loop takes approximately 1.5 hours on normal traffic condition.

This free shuttle service is available on first-come, first-served basis for the public – obviously, hotel guests with valid theme park tickets have priority. Nonetheless, this bus is large enough for twenty passengers – ten seated and ten standing. Plus, there is sufficient space for luggage as well. Depending on the demand for this service, the current van shuttle service is still available, so there is no worry about being stranded.

As I have mentioned earlier, one need not be a visitor to the Lost World of Tambun to utilise this service. For example, if you live in Simee and you would like to go to Ipoh Parade, the nearest stop for you to wait for this free shuttle bus is Fair Park Hotel. Hop on it and disembark at Syeun Hotel. Ipoh Parade is just opposite Syeun.

But, where is the bus now?? You can track the location of the bus conveniently from your smart phone via the mobile app “Sunway Lost World Shuttle Bus” available for both Android and iOS, downloadable from Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively, for free!
