A specialty cake and pastry shop, Ah Ma House is a village house that transports us back to the old days of our grandparents. Indeed, Ah Ma is the Hokkien word for grandmother.
Personally, I find Ah Ma House, also known as Ah Ma Bakery, to be a commercial store. However, the items that are sold here may be difficult to find now in larger cities, hence its attraction.
Other than to stop, browse and shop, there is no one whom I could ask for further information about the house, because everyone was busy taking orders and serving customers.
Items that most people buy here are traditional snacks and cookies, such as kuih kapit (love letters). Apparently, the recipe was passed down from their grandmother.
Ah Ma House in Sekinchan provides a wonderful photography opportunity, which we naturally took full advantage of!
If you walk around to the garage of the house, you will also see vehicles that visitors could rent to tour the village easily, for a fee, of course. I heard that it’s RM5 per round but the poster says otherwise.
