Who would have thought that an old abandoned bungalow in the corner lot of Ipoh Garden / Simee that was an eyesore for years could in the year of 2017 be transformed into a beautifully-appointed, classy 3-star business hotel?

Obviously, much time, effort and of course, money had been put into the project, but M Roof Hotel & Residences has in just a few short months become a major landmark in this mixed development area of Ipoh City.

As mentioned above, M Roof Hotel & Residences is really new. During my recent 4D/3N stay at the hotel, courtesy of Tourism Perak & Gaya Travel Magazine, the hotel has yet to be fully completed. On the works are a swimming pool, 500-pax ballroom and gymnasium.

In my opinion, other facilities that would make M Roof Hotel & Residences a primary choice for travellers, in addition to the above three, would be a bar with live band and its own merchandise store like what is available at M Boutique Hotel in another section of Ipoh.

If you are familiar with the M brand, you could easily recognise M Roof Hotel & Residences. The difference between M Boutique Hotel and M Roof Hotel & Residences is that M Boutique caters to a younger, hippier set of guests who want to enjoy something different and be surprised each time they set foot into the hotel.

Meanwhile, M Roof Hotel & Residences caters to a more mature, business class clientele. This is why room decor is standard Modernist-Minimalist concept across all 150 units rooms and suites.

Moreover, none of these rooms has a long bath. I personally think it is not something that is missing although it is good if available.

Anyway, even though the hotel is not fully ready yet, I like to share some photos with you so that you know what to expect when you check in at M Roof Hotel & Residences.

Do take note that M Roof Hotel & Residences uses duvets of duck feather (down), which may give off a certain smell. Moreover, because of this, a stay at M Roof Hotel & Residences may not be suitable for guests who are allergic to organic matter.

So, show you the room tariff already, you ask?

Room Category / Rack Rate (nett) / Bar Rate (nett)
Superior Queen / RM300 / RM 190
Deluxe King / Twin / RM400 / RM220
Deluxe Plus (King) / RM500 / RM240
Junior Suite King / RM700 / RM320
Executive Suite King* / RM800 / RM480

Rates are inclusive 6% GST. Surcharge may apply during peak periods. All rates are subject to change without prior notice.

Rooms come with complimentary breakfast for two pax, at either Oldtown Grand or The Morning After. Similar to M Boutique Hotel, M Roof Hotel & Residences does not have its own F&B outlet but breakfast is served in partnership with the two outlets.

Check-in time is from 3pm and check-out time is 12 noon.

If you travel in a large group, you would probably prefer the Residences. For further information or reservation, contact:
