1. paddy ready for harvest
When I visited Sekinchan in January 2017, I lamented that I was there at the wrong time of the year as the field had just been harvested and it was all brown, instead of green and golden.

Well, life is definitely unpredicted as I found myself unwittingly visiting Sekinchan for the second time in May.

In my earlier postings about Sekinchan, I had mentioned that the best time to visit the paddy fields here is around June and December, just before harvesting takes place. This is because the planting season is in February and August, so visiting at other times offers different views.

The month of May was good enough for me – in fact, some plots of the crops had already been harvested, while other sections of the village were very smoky due to open burning.

Nevertheless, I got my wish to see the dozens of different hues of green and golden. I couldn’t stop capturing photos of the panoramic scenery.
