The short time spent in Taipei did not mean a lack of opportunity to try popular restaurants in the city. While lunch was settled at A Bi Han Ten (阿美飯店), dinner was at Qing Tian Xai, a restaurant at Datong District offering authentic Guizhou cuisine.
By the way, Guizhou is a mountainous province in Southwest China well known for its Huangguoshu Waterfall, at 74 metres in height.
With Qing Tian Xai serving traditional Guizhou specialities, using ingredients imported from Mainland China, there is no necessity to go to Guizhou for its famed food as they are available at Qing Tian Xai!
Similar to my meal at A Bi Han Ten (阿美飯店), I do not have the names of the dishes I had at Qing Tian Xai, oh, *face palm* banana me, but I do know that it was a delectable meal worth repeating.
A signature dish of the restaurant, which we also had, is the double-boiled chicken stew. This is the original “essence of chicken”, Guizhou-style. As preparing it takes long hours, diners are requested to make a reservation.
Look at our meal of dishes recommended by Qing Tian Xai owner, Mr. David Yeh, who is himself a chef with decades of experience.
Qing Tian Xai is a non-halal restaurant. Is has a sister outlet by the name of 清真肆集 Halalan & Toyyiban Mart across the street that caters to Muslim diners.
