Serving authentic traditional Malay cuisine, Pen Mutiara Restaurant is located at the Batu Maung LKIM Jetty, near the new second link to Penang Island.
It is owned by the Penang Fishermen’s Association and the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM).
Opened for business since Jan 1, 2006, the signature dish of Pen Mutiara is its curry fish head, served in a clay pot.
Other traditional Malay cuisine served, which we ordered for dinner, were spicy deep-fried fish and deep-fried squid. Check out my photos of our mouth-watering meal.
By the way, the restaurant’s architecture reminded me of Ipoh’s Tandoor Grill. Pen Mutiara Restaurant is also able to cope with large dinner functions.
