This travel fair, held concurrently nationwide, is more vibrant than I remember it to be over the past few years. It looks like many people are not afraid to fly.

Those looking for cheap travel packages are really in for a good time, what with rival MITM Travel Fair organising their three-day fair over the same weekend, at Dewan Leong Wan Chin. Unfortunately, I am not able to catch the action there due to time constraints.

While many of the exhibitors are familiar names, I am happy to spot a few new developments during my visit on Friday. For one, Firefly will start to operate Ipoh – Johor Bahru flights four times a week beginning September 15. I made a check on Firefly website for the fare. The cheapest I could get is RM119 one way, excluding taxes.

New player YOU Wings on the other hand, will be operating Ipoh – Medan flights from November onwards. Further information on this will be announced in due time. Meanwhile. the company is running a selfie contest.
