Yours truly was invited by Resorts World Genting last weekend to take on a 24-hour food trail challenge that consisted of 23 F&B outlets. Avid readers would know that this wasn’t my first eating marathon at Resorts World Genting. I’ve been on 36-hour and 12-hour eating trails previously, and came out of them alive and well-fed. This was no exception, no surprise here.
Obviously, to eat everything that was served to me within that stipulated number of hours was humanly impossible. That’s why it’s important to strategise. Kudos also to my team mates who helped dig in! Phew!
Here’s a list of the eateries that we visited, in alphabetical order. These came highly recommended by both Resorts World Genting and SkyAvenue / First World Plaza but most of the time, we were allowed to order whatever we wanted.
Ah Yip Herbal Soup
This was my second visit to Ah Yip Herbal Soup at SkyAvenue. While the first time was a heavy meal of Ipoh Bak Kut Teh, Ginseng Stew Chicken Soup and Bean Paste Duck, this time was a very light meal with just two varieties of herbal soups. Ah, that’s what Ah Yip is well known for.
Ah Yip Herbal Soup, SkyAvenue
We had Mushroom Fish Bladder Soup and Coconut Chicken Soup – both are signature soups on the menu. Drinking herbal soup, it is a good idea to know the benefits you are seeking from the herbs. For example, Mushroom Fish Bladder Soup promotes health and strengthens body system.

If you are looking for other tonics, get recommendation from the friendly staff, who’d be more than happy to assist.
Babajia
I love Babajia for its Peranakan theme. This “Baba House” is where you should head to if you seek Peranakan cuisine while visiting Resorts World Genting. I dined at Babajia previously and remembered that I loved my food very much, so I ordered the same two items: Nyonya Laksa and Char Kway Teow.
Babajia @ SkyAvenue
This time, I added a plate of satay. When the satay, I was shocked at its XXL-sized skewers. Can you see how large they are?
Clockwise L – R: Chicken Satay, Nyonya Laksa & Char Kway Teow. Drinks (L-R): Orange Juice, Apple Juice & Watermelon Juice @ Babajia, SkyAvenue
Babajia is one of the handful of eateries at SkyAvenue that opens for 24/7. If you are someone who craves for food at odd hours, Babajia should be your top choice.
Bar.B.Q Plaza
Are you into grill-cum-steamboat dining concept? If this is you kind of cuisine, look out for Bar.B.Q Plaza, a newly opened eatery at SkyAvenue.
Bar.B.Q Plaza, SkyAvenue
I do admit that self-cooking Mongolian/Japanese style barbeque does not rock my boat but I was game for the experience and was lucky to have a dining mate who enjoyed doing all the cooking.
value set @ Bar.B.Q Plaza, SkyAvenue
We ordered the Value Set valued at RM138.80, good for four pax, so there were four bowls of rice, four glasses of drinks and high-quality meat enough for four. This set came with free cabbage refill, too.
BMS Organics
Wasn’t I happy to discover that I was to visit BMS Organics again. Do you know what BMS stands for? It’s Body, Mind, Soul. This is a meat-free restaurant that serves healthy food only.
BMS Organics, SkyAvenue
One of my regular items when dining at BMS Organics is the BMS Soy Milk Curry Laksa with handmade noodles. The taste and flavour of the curry is on point every time.
Clockwise L – R: Grilled BMS Chef’s Burger, BMS Signature Nasi Lemak and BMS Soy Milk Curry Laksa with handmade noodles @ BMS Organics, SkyAvenue
Meat-free or healthy food (MSG-free) does not have to be tasteless. Try BMS Organics to believe it.
Boat Noodle
The joy of eating boat noodle, a Thai-style noodle dish, is to see how high you can stack your bowls. The idea for these mini bowls originated from the Floating Market of Ayutthaya in Thailand, where it is impractical to use large bowls.
Boat Noodle, SkyAvenue
At SkyAvenue’s Boat Noodle, each bowl of noodles is priced at RM2.50. Toppings go for another RM2.50 per bowl as well. The three popular toppings are fried chicken skin, fried wanton skin and fried chicken meatballs.
Noodles with toppings of Fried Wanton Skin & Fried Chicken Skin, with Hot Steamy Buns + Sangkayaa Spread @ Boat Noodle, SkyAvenue
Led by Outlet Manager Ahmed Shuvo, the crew here is one of the friendliest I have met in SkyAvenue. Definitely worth a second, third and fourth visit.
dal.komm Coffee
dal.komm Coffee doesn’t just serve good coffee to wash down the sweet pastries, the ambience here is amazing as well.
dal.komm Coffee, SkyAvenue
Having visited before, I instinctively ordered the same drinks that I ordered during the first visit. Perhaps, I enjoyed them so much that they were retained in my subconscious mind?
Strawberry Lava Cruffin flanked by Strawberry Cube (L) & Honey Grapefruit (R) @ dal.komm Coffee, SkyAvenue
I paired the beverages with Strawberry Lava Cruffin. What a delicious dessert this was, I am sure you can tell from my photo!
DÔME Café
I bumped into my Ipoh friends when dining at DÔME Café. They told me that they were looking for really kaw coffee and ended up at DÔME. I reminded them that they are not in Ipoh, best known for our white coffee, therefore, they have to make do with what’s available. Luckily, DÔME Café is said to offer the world’s finest coffees.
Dome, SkyAvenue
Seen here are some of DÔME Café ‘s signature items, which we ordered upon the recommendation of the restaurant manager. It was a delicious second round of breakfast, that I must say!
Clockwise from L – R: Caesar Salad, Apple Crush, Gourmet Chicken Pie, Banana Burst & Tiramisu @ DÔME Café, SkyAvenue
Dream Color
This is a new outlet that sells drinks, very colourful drinks! There are different categories of beverages: Butterfly Series, Cloud Series, and Tea Series, among others.
Dream Color, SkyAvenue
Served in 550ml-sized tall, transparent bottles, the beverages are mixed in layers on top of ice cubes, which give off a beautiful colour combination. These concoctions are best consumed within two hours. When ready to drink, turn the bottle upside down, instead of shaking it.
L – R: Dreamy Dragon, Mystery & Twilight @ Dream Color, SkyAvenue
Eggette Lab
Of all the 23 F&B outlets featured in this list, only Eggette Lab is located at First World Plaza (Level 2), near Snow World.
Eggette Lab, First World Plaza, Resorts World Genting
Do you know that egglet is a popular snack in Hong Kong? You don’t need to have visited the island country if you had read about it in my blog post: Top 6 Must Eat in Lumut, Perak.
Tricolor (L) & Golden Custard (R) @ Eggette Lab, First World Plaza
Unlike the egglet colouful menu of D’Mystery Café House, Eggette Lab is not as flowery. The egglets at Eggette Lab are presented in the same fashion; the only difference is the flavours. There are ten to choose from.
Gindaco
If you love piping hot takoyaki balls, you should try Gindaco. Also like Eggette Lab, Gindaco Takoyakis are served in a variety of flavours. Get them in six or eight pieces.
Gindaco, SkyAvenue
May I suggest that to compare the taste of Gindaco sauce, to also order the Original? Seen here are the Original and new topping, Ebi Mayo.
Original Takoyaki (front) & Ebi Mayo Takoyaki (back) @ Gindaco, SkyAvenue
Other toppings include Yakisoba and Negiodako, just to name a couple.
I Love Yoo!
The observant reader would realise that I had just written about SkyAvenue’s I Love Yoo! Well, that was from my previous visit.
I Love Yoo!, SkyAvenue
I Love Yoo!, as mentioned, is an eatery that’s dedicated to the Yoo Tiao. It is also included in this 24-hour food trail, much to my delight. As you can see, the Yoo Tiao is a must in every serving.
Clockwise L – R: Tau Foo Fa, Porridge, Yoo Tiao & Fragrant Herbal Salted Chicken @ I Love Yoo!, SkyAvenue
I remember how I was supposed to have the Fragrant Herbal Salted Chicken, a signature here, the last time I dined here, but it was sold out. I finally got it! Woohoo!
JR Curry
This new outlet sells economy rice-style meals. Best known for the variety of curries, their signature items include mutton curry and sambal sauce.
JR Curry, SkyAvenue
Popular on the à la carte menu is curry fish head. Priced at around RM61 for a full fish head, it is good for about 5 – 6 pax. As a lover of all types of curries, I am definitely coming back for the curry fish head one day!

Llaollao
I have always been tempted by Llaollao’s natural frozen yoghurt (froyo). I pass by the NU Sentral outlet regularly but it is always packed. What a delight that I managed to fix my craving!
Llaollao, SkyAvenue
My medium-sized Llaollao was topped with black chocolate sauce, Oreo and Chips Ahoy. Can you tell yet what’s my world’s favourite flavour?
Natural Frozen Yoghurt topped with black chocolate sauce, Oreo & Chips Ahoy @ Llaollao, SkyAvenue
Madame Waffle
Serving the most sinfully delicious desserts is Madame Waffle. I crave for this artisan premium Belgium Liège waffle café to arrive in Ipoh but it doesn’t look like it’s coming anytime soon.
Madame Waffle, SkyAvenue
While up on the mountains, it was a wonderful opportunity for me to try the King Durian Gelato Crème Brûlée Crêpe. This is newly introduced by Madame Waffle, so don’t miss out this chance for a taste.

Morganifield’s
I recall what a delicious meal I had the pleasure to enjoy at my previous meal at Morganfield’s, SkyAvenue.
Morganfield’s, SkyAvenue
This time, we were recommended the mini platter of pork ribs with five different flavours. The five flavours are: Black Pepper, Garlic, BBQ, Asian and Rib Rub (Original).
Mini Platter Ribs with Five Sauces (L-R): Black pepper, Garlic, BBQ, Asian & Rib Rub (original) @ Morganfiled’s, SkyAvenue
Do take note that this mini platter is not available on the menu. However, what’s being offered is a full-size platter of ribs, in a single flavour. This platter was launched just a month ago.
NeNe Chicken
Koreans can really tolerate spicy food. I didn’t expect that, till I got a taste of Samyeang Superstars by Domino’s Pizza.
NeNe Chicken, SkyAvenue
NeNe Chicken, which means “Yes Yes Chicken” in Korean, is where to go to look for a serious oomph in your chicken. Even writing this, I can feel my scalp sweating. That’s the memory of eating the Freaking Hot NeNe Chicken. It was so spicy that I cried.
Nene Flavours (clockwise L – R): Bulgogi, Swicy & Freaking Hot, with Black Sesame Ice Cream @ NeNe Chicken, SkyAvenue
Luckily there’s Original, Bulgogi and Swicy (sweet & sour) to opt for, if you do not have such an adventurous palate.
Only Mee
Just from the name of this outlet, you know that you will be having noodles – not just any but freshly made ones. Highly recommended noodles are: Wanton Mee, Assam Laksa Penang and Curry Laksa Ipoh.
Only Mee, SkyAvenue
The item that I had is called “Little Bowl Noodles”. Do you see that the bowls are even smaller than Boat Noodle? I actually like this 4-in-1 set because with just one order, I was able to eat four different bowls of noodles: Laksa, Green Curry, Curry & Prawn Mee.
Little Bowl Noodles (clockwise L – R): Laksa, Green Curry, Curry & Prawn Mee @ Only Mee, SkyAvenue
In fact, you can even pick your own flavours. What a brilliant idea, don’t you think so?
Richdad
Like Babajia, Richdad is also an outlet that is open 24/7. Hungry in the middle of the night or in the wee hours of the morning? Don’t worry, Richdad has your back.
Richdad, SkyAvenue
Serving a variety of local and Asian cuisines, Richdad has introduced a range of Breakfast Sets, to start our day with. Seen in this photo are two items from the Breakfast Set menu: Half-boiled Eggs & Toast with Coffee and Nasi Lemak with Tea.

Royale Vietnam Restaurant
Living in Ipoh where it is so difficult to find authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Royale Vietnam Restaurant is one that I try not to give a pass while visiting Resorts World Genting. Of course, Royale Vietnam is also in Kuala Lumpur but I have yet to come across it.
Royale Vietnam Restaurant, SkyAvenue
Here were three items that we ordered, including chef’s recommendations of Flaming Coconut Seafood Curry and Tay Giang Bamboo Fried Rice. Tell me if you are salivating already!

Starbucks Reserve
Of the six Starbucks Reserve outlets in Malaysia, I have only ever been to this one at SkyAvenue. This time, we participated in a coffee tasting session at the Starbucks Experience Bar.
Starbucks Reserve, SkyAvenue
The two newly introduced coffee beans that we had the opportunity to taste were Kenya Kamwangi and Guatemala Flor Del Rosario. These two flavours of coffees, purposely introduced at the start of the Spring season, are only available at Starbucks Reserve Stores, and for a limited time only. So, if you would also like to get a taste of either Kenya Kamwangi or Guatemala Flor Del Rosario, head over to a Starbucks Reserve outlet near you.

Texas Chicken
With the opening of Texas Chicken in Ipoh, everyone has been telling me to go and try and see how different it is from Kentucky Fried Chicken. Well, I finally gave Texas Chicken a try but it was at SkyAvenue.
Texas Chicken, SkyAvenue
The fried chicken cuts from Texas are indeed big, juicy and most of all, crunchy. Coupled with these signature Cheese Fries, it was a fast food meal worth remembering. Of course, the meal would be incomplete without desserts. We opted for Strawberry Shortcake.

Tian Ma Bird Nest
Of all the F&B outlets at SkyAvenue, Tian Ma Bird Nest ranks very high for me because I believe in the power of bird’s nest in making me more beautiful.
Tian Ma Bird Nest, SkyAvenue
This time at Tian Ma (Heavenly Horse), I was served with Chicken Porridge with Bird’s Nest and Bird’s Nest Coconut Juice. Price for Chicken Porridge is RM38 for one bowl and RM19 for the second bowl. Do take note that the latter is only available this June.

Tokyo Secret
Hurry, Tokyo Secret has a new item on their menu, and it is called Syukurimu. It is an almond crispy coating filled with sweet, creamy delectable custard filling. Selling at RM9.90 per piece, one isn’t enough.
Tokyo Secret, SkyAvenue
Want more? Buy six at RM49.50 to enjoy a discount of RM1.65 each. Don’t say I didn’t tip you off!

So, here’s my fully stamped eating passport! Want to know how many hours it took me to visit all 23 F&B outlets at SkyAvenue and stuffing myself with these delicious food? A total of 19 eating hours! That’s almost a full day of eating. Sweat!
Emily’s passport to eating
If you are also from Ipoh, you might want to know that it is very convenient to visit SkyAvenue! There is a bus that departs daily for Genting Highlands from Terminal Amanjaya at 10.30am. The fare is only RM35 one way (adult). Passengers disembark at First World Hotel, which is connected to SkyAvenue. The trip takes about 3.5 hours one way. Enjoy yourself!
